New South Wales rugby league coach Laurie Daley's dumped both last year's halves for next week's State of Origin opener.

Tony Williams returns to the Origin arena after missing last year's series through poor form.

With Greg Bird suspended and Boyd Cordner injured, Beau Scott and Ryan Hoffman fill the Blues' second row.
