9:37 am on 20 May 2014

A Rest of the World XI, captained by New Zealand's Suzie Bates, has beaten an MCC women's team by 41 runs at Lord's in London.

Bates scored 31 as the Rest of the World made 283 for nine in their 50 overs.

The MMC XI was then bowled out for 242.

It was the first MCC Women's match to be staged on the hallowed turf at the Home of Cricket, and the first time a women's Rest of the World side had ever played.

Fellow White Fern Rachel Priest also played for the Rest of the World side.

The match is a part of Lord's Bicentenary celebrations.
