The American golfer Brendon Todd has clinched his first PGA Tour title in style with a two-shot victory at the Byron Nelson Championship in Texas.
Todd, who started the day tied for the lead, broke clear with two straight birdies around the turn and parred home for a bogey-free four-under-par 66 at the TPC Four Seasons Resort in Irving.
He finished at 14-under par and Canadian Mike Weir claimed second place on 12 under.
The 28-year-old Todd had never finished better than sixth in 75 previous starts on the PGA Tour and collects $1.4 million for the win.
Palmerston North's Tim Wilkinson fired a final round 68 to finish in a tie for 22nd and collects $74,000 in prize money.
