The New Zealander Scott McLaughlin has delivered Volvo their first V8 Supercars win in 28 years with victory in the opening sprint race of this weekend's round in Perth.
McLaughlin crossed the line 0.75 seconds ahead of countryman Fabian Coulthard of Holden to stand atop the podium for the third time in his career.
Coulthard's second place has lifted him into second in the driver's championship.
Australian Craig Lowndes will start the second 100 kilometre sprint from pole position, with McLaughlin alongside him on the front row.
