Hawke's Bay have won their sixth straight National Basketball League match, defeating the Nelson Giants 82-77 on the road at Saxton Stadium.
The Hawks move to 10 wins and two losses for the season, while the Giants still remain in the top four with seven wins and four losses.
In Invercargill the Southland Sharks trailed for most of the game before edging the Waikato Pistons 92-88 to move into the top four.
Southland outscored Waikato 27-18 in the final period to seal their fifth win.
