The Mercedes Formula One team have enlisted the services of a Kiwi sports psychologist but the title-chasing Lewis Hamilton will continue to do his own thing.

Ceri Evans, a former All Whites captain who worked with the All Blacks before their 2011 World Cup win, has been has been hired by Mercedes to help engineers and mechanics, but there's been no suggestion of extending his skills to work with the drivers.

Evans worked with the team at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai last month.

But Hamilton feels sports psychology is something he doesn't need.
