City to draw on 2012 title race experience

7:29 am on 8 May 2014

The Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini says his side will draw on the experience of their title winning charge two seasons ago as they look to seal their second Premier League crown in three years.

City can lay one hand on the trophy this morning with a home victory over Aston Villa that would put them on top, two points clear of Liverpool with one game left.

In 2012 a dramatic title race came down to the very last game as City came from behind to beat Queens Park Rangers in stoppage time to wrest the title from Manchester United's grasp.

Pellegrini says the experience of that pressure cooker situation should help City.

Also this morning Sunderland can secure their Premier League survival with a win over West Brom.
