Undefeated New Zealand boxer Joseph Parker will fight the man who ended compatriot Shane Cameron's career, as he continues his rise through the heavyweight ranks.
Parker has accepted a July bout with American journeyman Brian Minto, a fight the New Zealander's trainer Kevin Barry pushed hard for.
Barry was of course in Minto's corner when he downed Cameron.
The 39-year-old Minto hasn't been in the ring since his upset victory over Cameron in December's fight for life.
For Parker it represents another genuine step-up in class against a fighter with 31 more bouts and 34 more ranking spots.
The 22-year-old travelled home from Germany last night after a doctor cleared the South Aucklander to fly, following his perforated air-drum from his seven-round TKO win over Brazilian Marcelo Nascimento.
If Parker can claim his ninth victory on July the 5th he will move up to 10th in the WBO rankings.
