Anscombe comfortable with move to first five

7:23 pm on 12 April 2014

Gareth Anscombe will run the cutter for the first time for the Chiefs tonight, in the absence of injured All Black Aaron Cruden.

Cruden's broken thumb has forced a shift for Anscombe from fullback to first five against the Melbourne Rebels in tonight's Super Rugby game.

He last played there two seasons ago for the Blues, but the 22-year-old's relaxed about the move

The midfielder Bundee Aki's back in the mix but the Chiefs' lengthy injury list shows few signs of easing - they're still missing the likes of midfielder Robbie Fruean and wing Asaeli Tikoirotuma, as well as Cruden.
