The New Zealand professional golfer James Gill fired a three-under 69 overnight in the PGA EuroPro Tour's final event of the season at Fairmont St Andrews in Scotland.
He's in a tie for fourth, three shots behind England's James Busby, after starting the back nine with an eagle.
His first round included and finishing with three birdies and 12 pars but he bogies two holes.
The 24-year-old Hamilton player's been in good form recently and reached the second stage of European Tour qualifying in Spain next month when he finished third at a tournament in Germany.
The top 15 players on the final Order of Merit on PGA EuroPro Tour will battle it out for a $140,000 prize pool in Morocco early in December.
Gill's 37th on the money list but a top three result this week in Scotland could get him to Marrakesh.
