The Hurricanes first five eighth Beauden Barrett appears to have the inside running on the All Blacks' No.10 jersey for the opening England Test in June, following a broken thumb suffered by the Chiefs' Aaron Cruden.
The Crusaders star Dan Carter's on sabbatical and with Cruden out for six to eight weeks - and the first Test in nine weeks - the in-form Barrett looks set to run the cutter for the World Cup holders.
