The defending Super Rugby champions the Chiefs have snatched a 43-43 draw against the South African side the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.

Winger Tim-Nanai Williams scored under the posts after the final siren had gone, with first five Aaron Cruden converting to give the Chiefs a draw in a match that featured 10 tries.

It's the second draw in two weeks for the Chiefs after drawing 34-34 with the Bulls last round.

The Chiefs remain the leading New Zealand side in the competition, and are third overall in the championship.

The Crusaders have become the first side to win away from home in South Africa this season with a 28-7 win over the Lions in Johannesburg.

Ryan Crotty, Andy Ellis and Kieron Fonotia were the try-scorers for the Crusaders.

In Napier on Saturday night, the Hurricanes beat the Pretoria based Bulls 25-20, while in Brisbane the Western Force upset the Queensland Reds 32-29.
