2:08 pm on 3 April 2014

The New Zealand women's hockey team has drawn 1-1 with China in the second and final Test in Taupo.

The Black Sticks led 1-0 at half-time through a Rhiannon Dennison goal from a penalty corner.

Head coach Mark Hager says much like the first Test, which they won 3-2, the team had good patches but were rusty at times.

He says they played a good first half, but had too many turnovers in the second half which really hurt their flow.

Hager says on the whole ther team continues to progress and we still have a few players recovering from injury.

The Black Sticks now take on Australia, Argentina, Korea, Japan and China in a 6-nation tournament in Hawkes Bay starting this weekend.
