Record deal for Miguel Cabrera

The Detroit Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera has signed a Major League Baseball record 337 million dollar deal.

The deal will keep the two-time reigning American League Most Valuable Player in Detroit for the next 10 years.

The deal tops the previous record deal sett by Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw, who signed a seven-year, 248 million dollar contract in January.

30-year-old Cabrera led the American League in batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage last year.

In 2012, he won the Triple Crown, topping the league in average, home runs and RBIs.
