World indoor shot-put bronze medalist Tom Walsh says he wants to put on a show for the fans and rival Jacko Gill at the National Athletics Championships in Wellington on Saturday.
Walsh has arrived in the capital fresh from breaking the national outdoor record in Melbourne last weekend.
19-year-old Gill has shunned the media in the buildup to the championships where he'll take part in a competition for the first time this summer.
22-year-old Walsh is hoping to stay at his peak for another couple of days yet as he feels he has one more big throw in him still.
He says all going well he give the public and Gill a bit of a show.
Walsh has already qualified for this year's Commonwealth Games, with Gill hoping to do the same on Saturday.
The three-day national championships start tomorrow, with the other feature event, the appearance of Valerie Adams, who will be chasing her 13th national shot-put title on Saturday.
