Melbourne thrash Brisbane to make NRL final

5:53 am on 27 September 2009

The Melbourne Storm are through to their fourth successive NRL grand final after a comprehensive 40-10 win over the Brisbane Broncos in Melbourne last night.

The Storm scored seven tries to two as they set up for a meeting with the Parramatta Eels in Sydney next weekend.

The Storm will be looking to add to their title from 2007.

It is the first time since Parramatta in 1981-84 that a team has reached the decider in four successive seasons.

Fullback Billy Slater with two and centre Greg Inglis with three scored breathtaking tries at Etihad Stadium but it was the performance of five-eighth Brett Finch that also stood out.

Finch set up two tries and is now set to become the story of the grand final as he faces the former teammates and club he walked out on just four weeks into the 2009 season.
