Australia's Dan McConnell and New Zealand's Karen Hanlen successfully defended their respective cross-country titles at the Oceania Mountain Bike Championships on Mt Hutt.
North Canterbury's Anton Cooper took an early lead in the elite men's race, but McConnell overhauled the Cannondale professional and won by two minutes to claim his fourth Oceania title. Rotorua's Dirk Peters was third.
Hanlen also came from behind to win the elite women's race by more than a minute from compatriot Kate Fluker and fellow Olympian Rebecca Henderson from Australia.
