Auckland City have embarrassed local football rivals Waitakere United again.
City hammered the defending champions United 4-1 at home to qualify for the national Premiership grand final against Team Wellington, with an 8-1 aggregate in the two-legged tie.
City already led 4-0 after the first leg of their semi-final in West Auckland, and the tie was over before half-time at Kiwitea Street in Sandringham, with the Navy Blues already up 3-nil and Waitakere a man down after their captain Jake Butler was sent off.
Team Wellington qualified on Saturday for next Sunday's decider by beating Hawke's Bay United 1-0 at home for a 3-1 win on aggregate.
