Tomkins aware a lot of people want him to fail at Warriors

The Warriors star signing, England fullback Sam Tomkins, says a lot of people want him to fail in the National Rugby League competition.

The former Wigan player has told the BBC he feels he's starting his rugby league career all over again with the Auckland-based club.

Despite winning both the Grand Final and Challenge Cup twice in England, Tomkins believes the perception of British rugby league in New Zealand and Australia means he will have to prove plenty of doubters wrong.

Tomkins says many in the NRL don't set much store by the Super League competition and feels a responsibility to prove its credibility.

He says he's not worried that a "big bunch of people" want him to fail.

The Warriors play Paramatta in their season opener on Sunday in Sydney.
