A Greg Inglis hat-trick has inspired South Sydney to a 28-8 win over reigning premiers the Sydney Roosters in the opening match of the National Rugby League season.
For the second successive season the Rabbitohs drew first blood against their bitter rivals in round one and they were worthy winners against a Roosters outfit who showed only flickers of the attacking prowess that served them so well last season.
Inglis scored once in the first half and the scores were level at 6-all at half-time, however they took control in the second as he touched down twice more to record an emphatic win.
The Warriors are at Parramatta on Sunday night.
