A century from Jesse Ryder has made him the top scorer in round one of the domestic one-day cricket competition.

Ryder's unbeaten 108 from 88 balls helped the Otago Volts chase down the Canterbury Wizards' 303-9 and win by five wickets at Aorangi Oval in Timaru.

The Volts finished on 305 for 5 in the 47th over.

Elsewhere the Northern Knights were dismissed for 195 in the 44th over by the Auckland Aces.

The Aces reached 196 for 3 in 38 overs to win by seven wickets at Eden Park's Outer Oval.

Worse were the Wellington Firebirds who were bundled out for 147 in the 34th over by the Central Stags.

The Stags only needed 23 overs to reach 150 for 2 to complete the eight wicket victory at Fitzherbert Park in Palmerston North.
