Ryan wins bronze at track cycling World Champs

The New Zealand cyclist Marc Ryan has won a bronze medal in the individual pursuit at the Track World Championships in Colombia.

Ryan completed the kilometre race in one minute eight seconds.693, beating Ireland's Ryan Mullen into fourth by just over a second.

Alexander Edmonds of Australia won the gold medal race from the Swiss Stefan Kueng.

Ryan was part of the New Zealand team that won bronze in the team pursuit yesterday.

In the men's scratch race, New Zealand's Dylan Kennett came 7th behind the winner Ivan Kovalev of Russia.

New Zealand's olympic bronze medalist, Simon van Velthoeven, was disqualified from the second round of the Kieran for passing the back wheel of the pacer.
