Galatasary have drawn 1-all with Chelsea in Istanbul in the first leg of their last 16 Champions League play off.
The Galatasary defender Aurelien Chedjou equalised from a corner for the Turkish side in the secopnd half after the Spanish international Fernando Torres scored for Chelsea in the 4th minute.
The match was the former Chelsea stalwart Didier Drogba's first game against his old club, but despite hitting the post he failed to score and was substituted late in the second half.
Torres' goal was the first for an English side in this year's knockout stages with Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United all trailing 2-0 after their first legs.
In this morning's other quarter final, Real Madrid thrashed Schalke 6-1 away in Germany.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale all scored twice to put the tie out of reach of the Germans.
