The high flying Australian golfer Jason Day can't wait to get to the Masters in April after is breakthrough win yesterday at the World Golf Championship Match Play event in Arizona.

The 26-year-old Queenslander laid to rest his demons from a string of near-misses in big events when he survived some incredible recoveries by the young Frenchman Victor Dubuisson to secure the title after five extra holes at Dove Mountain.

Victory in the 64-man event has taken Day to a career high 4th in the world rankings, fuelling his belief that he can take the final step to a major championship title after three runner-up finishes - at the 2011 Masters, 2011 US Open and 2013 US Open.
