South African cricketers to play in New Zealand in October

12:01 pm on 25 February 2014

The South Africa will play a minimum of 23 warm-up one-day internationals against five different countries, including New Zealand, to boost their preparation for next year's World Cup.

The three-time semi-finalists have had no previous World Cup success and a litany of dramatic failures have earned them a cruel reputation as "chokers" in the limited overs format.

The Proteas will play a three-match one day series in New Zealand in October before heading to Australia for three Twenty20 internationals and five ODIs in November.

New Zealand Cricket's operations manager Lyndsay Crocker expects a decision to be made on the venues within the next couple of weeks.

Crocker says at that time of the year they'll probably ahve to play the games during the day.

The World Cup is in New Zealand and Australia next summer.

During the World Cup South Africa will play in Hamilton, Auckland and Wellington.
