Adams to lead five strong New Zealand team at world indoor champs

The Olympic and world champion shot putter Valerie Adams will head a five strong New Zealand team to compete at the World Indoor athletic champs in the Polish city of Sopot next month.

It'll be the largest team New Zealand has sent to a world indoor championships and includes two shot putters andthree distance runners.

It will be Adams' fifth world indoor campaign and she is the defending champion.

Tomas Walsh will compete in the men's shot put.

Runner Nick Willis will be hoping for better luck in his second indoor world champs.

He competed in Valencia in 2008 and finished second in his 1500m heat but was disqualified in the following round.

Zane Robertson and Lucy van Dalen and will contest the men's and women's 3000m.
