9:05 am on 23 February 2014

A last-gasp drop goal from Duncan Weir secured Scotland's first win of this year's Six Nations rugby championship a thrilling 21-20 victory over Italy in Rome.

Italy led 13-3 at the break thanks to a Tommaso Allan try just before the half-time whistle.

Scotland's only points came from the boot of Greig Laidlaw before Alex Dunbar powered over in the right corner on 54 minutes for Scotland's first try of the tournament.

Scotland moved in front for the first time with another Dunbar try on 67 minutes, but the lead lasted just two minutes as Joshua Furno crossed for his first try for Italy.

Weir broke home hearts in the 79th minute with his drop goal to secure the narrowest of wins.
