A spell of mild winter weather is disrupting events at the Sochi Olympics and Games organisers are concerned about the outlook with temperatures forecast to rise further this week.
Training for the women's Alpine skiing downhill was scrapped last night to protect the piste, while mild conditions meant a mushy track for the Nordic Combined event.
Soft snow also caused plenty of fallers in freestyle skiing's slopestyle at the Extreme Park with organisers shovelling in snow stored from last year.
Temperatures are expected to rise to at least 15 degrees Celsius later this week in the Black Sea resort.
Snow from last winter had been stored higher up in the mountains and some of it has already been used, at least for training sessions.
