More game time for Benji this week

6:38 am on 6 February 2014

League convert Benji Marshall will get plenty of time at first-five-eighth again on Friday night as the Blues take on the New South Wales Waratahs in their second Super Rugby pre-season match in Sydney.

Marshall made his rugby debut last weekend in their loss to the Hurricanes in Masterton with most reports saying that he was solid.

Coach Sir John Kirwan is happy with his progress.

A big Sydney crowd is expected for the match which will mark Marshall's return to Sydney where he played league for 14 years. Kirwan doesn't expect the reception he might get will be a problem.

Kirwan will also have the services of their other first five Chris Noakes this week.

Kirwan says backs Charles Piutau, Frank Halai and Francis Saili will all get some game time on Friday.
