The Milwaukee Brewers turned a rare triple play en route to a 2-1, 12-inning win over the visiting San Francisco Giants.
With runners on first and second in the sixth inning, the Brewers third baseman Casey McGehee fielded a grounder by San Francisco's Aaron Rowand, stepped on the bag for one out and threw to second baseman Felipe Lopez for a second out.
Lopez then tossed the ball to Prince Fielder at first base to complete the triple play. Fielder later won the game with a 12th-inning home run.
The triple play was the Brewers' first since April 1999 and the fifth in the Major Leagues this season.
