Bike NZ will advertise for a head coach for their women's endurance track programme.
Additional funding from High Performance Sport New Zealand will allow them to resurrect their women's programme, which was put on hold because of costs associated with new UCI qualifying procedures and because the women's team pursuit is not included in July's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
They received a further 400 thousand dollars a year through to Rio2016, which will help fund the women's campaign and a fulltime national coach.
BikeNZ hopes to have the coach in place to prepare the female riders for individual endurance events at Glasgow and focus on the team pursuit and omnium for the Rio Olympics.
BikeNZ is advertsing globally for the new coach.
