The German Jan Frodeno has won the Auckland half Ironman race.
Frodeno, the gold medallist in the triathlon at the Beijing Olympics, won in a total time of three hours, 45 minutes and 40 seconds.
Australian Richie Cunningham was second, a minute 42 behind while New Zealand's Terrenzo Bozzone was third, just 11 seconds further back.
Bozzone beat fellow local Bevan Docherty by another 11 seconds and says he's just happy to finish in the top three for the 18th straight race he's finished.
