Moyes comments investigated by FA

The under-fire Manchester United manager David Moyes' problems have increased with the Football Association looking into his latest attack on referees.

Moyes said United were playing the officials as well as the opposition after Sunderland's 2-1 victory at the Stadium of Light in the first leg of a League Cup semi-final condemned his side to three consecutive defeats for the first time in 13 years.

The Scot was angry with the referee, Andre Marriner, for awarding a free-kick against Jonny Evans in the build-up to Sunderland's opener.

The FA has confirmed they are looking into Moyes' comments and he could face disciplinary action if they deem he's questioned the impartiality of the officials.
