The Chelsea midfielder, Frank Lampard, and defender, Branislav Ivanovic, will be out of action for the football club until the end of January, after sustaining injuries in last weekend's 2-1 home win over Liverpool.
Ivanovic suffered a knee injury and was substituted in the first half of the match, while the England international Lampard, sustained a muscle injury and didn't return for the second half.
The Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, says the injuries will rule the pair out for about a month.
Chelsea beat Southampton 3-0 this morning to leave the London club two points behind the Premier League leaders, Arsenal.
