Beleaguered A-League side Melbourne Heart, who have sacked coach John Aloisi, have confirmed that talks to sell the club are ongoing.
Without confirming the identity of the interested party, the Heart say several approaches to the club had taken place across 2013 and negotiations to sell the franchise were at an advanced stage.
In recent days, various reports have speculated the club is on the brink of a $13 million sale to New Zealand businessman Bart Campbell.
Campbell, who has a long history in sport management, led the consortium that took control of NRL club the Melbourne Storm in June.
Heart remain bottom of the A-League, a position the club has occupied since early November.
