The Sydney rugby league club Cronulla has decided to challenge the NRL's one million dollar fine and suspension of coach Shane Flanagan.
Earlier this week the NRL's chief executive David Smith announced that Cronulla had seriously breached the game's code of conduct with their 2011 supplement programme, and that Flanagan had failed in his duty of care to players.
The club was hit with a proposed $1 million fine, $400,000 of which was suspended, and Flanagan was provisionally suspended for 12 months.
All parties were given until January 15 to respond to the findings before the final punishments were handed down.
But Cronulla's board has decided to assemble a legal team and fight for the reputation and future of the club.
