The world's top equestrian, New Zealand's Andrew Nicholson, believes the country's eventing is well placed to cope with whatever his compariot Jonathan Paget might face following a positive drugs test.

Paget is facing a possible two year suspension and having his Burghley title stripped after the B sample from his horse Clifton Promise came back positive for the banned substance Reserpine.

Nicholson will be promoted to first and second if Paget's title is stripped.

Nicholson says the sport is generally is in good shape in New Zealand and says even if Paget's banned they will have a good team for next year's World Eventing Games.
