Natalie Grinham from the Netherlands has ended the fairytale run of Shelley Kitchen to win her way through to the final of the New Zealand Women's Squash Open at Mt Maunganui.
Grinham will meet top seed and world number two, Natalie Grainger of the United States in todays final.
Grinham was too fast and too strong for Kitchen winning in straight games 11-9 11-2 11-7 after Grainger earlier won her semi in three games over Egyptian Omneya Abdel Kawy (Egypt) 11-8 11-5 11-9.
It was the best career performance from Kitchen in what was only her second semifinal in a WISPA Gold Star event.
Her performances should see her rise in the world rankings.
The New Zealand Women's Open which is being staged for the first time in 16 years, with the 82,000 dollars prizemoney attracted seven of the world's top-10 ranked players.
Meanwhile the final of the one-star New Zealand Men's Classic is an all-kiwi affair with second seed Martin Knight taking on Auckland's Campbell Grayson, who upset No 1 seed and New Zealand champion Kashif Shuja.
