All Blacks hang on for win over France

2:48 pm on 10 November 2013

The All Blacks have escaped with a 26-19 win in a fiercely contested test match against France in Paris.

Neither side was able to score a try in the first half and after a spirited French display they went to the break locked up at 9-9.

France's Morgan Parra and Dan Carter traded penalties to start the second half, before Charles Piutau scored an opportunistic try to put the All Blacks ahead.

Piutau then set up Kieran Read for the All Blacks' second try, giving them a 14-point lead.

France hit back with a try to Brice Dulin and attacked the line again in the final stages, but New Zealand's defence was able to hold on for the win.

The All Blacks' next match is against England next weekend.
