Australian allrounder Shane Watson has been cleared of a serious hamstring strain and is confident of being able to play in the first Ashes cricket test in Brisbane in a couple of weeks.
Watson, who has a long injury history, suffered the problem in the final one dayer against India in Bangalore last week.
But scans have shown the latest injury is not serious and Watson is still in the frame to be able to bowl in the first test - provided he responds well to treatment and can get through training when the team assemble in Brisbane on Sunday week.
