Black Sticks give up early lead in loss to Australia

The New Zealand men's hockey team let a one nil lead slip, to lose 3-1 to world number two Australia, in their Oceania Cup match in Stratford.

The Black Sticks, who're ranked fifth in the world, were scorded first but allowed the Kookaburras straight back into the game with an equaliser, which they followed up with with two more first half half goals.

Neither side was able to score in the second half.

The Black Sticks vice captain Shea Mcaleese says it was disappointing to let Australia back into the game so quickly after the home side took the lead.
