Ferns sweep Malawi

6:06 am on 1 November 2013

The Silver Ferns have completed a series sweep of Malawi with a convincing 72-39 win in the third netball Test in Hamilton.

The Ferns saved their best for last, turning on a dominant showing in their final international of the season.

The homeside impressed in the first half with their accuracy and execution, although the tempo did fall away slightly when changes were made in the second half.

Captain Casey Kopua was impressive back in her more traditional spot of goal defence, the ball moved well through the court and was converted by Irene van Dyk who shot 21 from 21.

The Ferns led 41-16 at half time, before a number of personnel changes were made.

Following two tests against Australia and three against the Silver Ferns, Malawi now head to Fiji for a two-test series before heading back to New Zealand for the FAST5 Netball World Series starting on November 8th.
