Danny Lee is about to set to another record in world golf as the youngest player to start in a World Golf Championship event when he tees off on Friday in the opening round of the 12.8-million dollar Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio.
The youngest golfer to win a European tour event, Lee, who turned 19 only 11 days ago, is the only New Zealander in the exclusive field of 64, and a top finish could see him earn enough money to gain a PGA tour card for next year without going through the end of year qualifying tournament.
But it's been a tough introduction so far on the world's biggest tour. In 10 starts, Lee has made only four cuts and had one top-10 finish, a tie for 7th in last months AT and T National tournament in Washington.
