NZ take control on Dhaka

A maiden test century from the young allrounder Corey Anderson has put the New Zealand cricketers firmly in charge with two days to play in the second test against Bangladesh in Dhaka.

22 year old Anderson, playing in only his second test, made 116 and featured in a 5th wicket partnership 140 with Kane Williamson who made 62, steering the Black Caps to 419 for 8, a first innings lead of 137 runs.

Other significant contributions came from BJ Watling who's 59 not out, leg spinner Ish Sodi with an unbeaten 55, and Ross Taylor 53.

The 22 year old Anderson, hit 15 boundaries including two sixes in his 116 whcih came off 173 balls.

At the end of the day, Anderson paid tribute to his batting partner Kane Williamson, who he says was a calming influence reigning him in when he needed it.

The left arm pace bowler says he hopes to emulate his idol Chris Cairns.
