Oracle to ride "wave of momentum" into decider

6:50 pm on 25 September 2013

Oracle Team USA skipper James Spithill says his crew is riding a wave of momentum that'll continue into tomorrow's deciding America's Cup race.

Down 8-1 in the race to nine Oracle has won the last seven races in a row to be poised on match point with Team New Zealand.

It won both of race's today on San Francisco Bay, coming from behind in the second to win by 54 seconds in a show of superior tactics and boat speed.

After being penalised for cheating in a lead up event, Spithill says fighting back from minus two points to reach eight has made his crew hungry for victory.

Team New Zealand skipper Dean Barker says Oracle's come from behind victory in race 18 was phenomenal.

Barker says he has to give credit where credit and due as Oracle has sailed incredibly well to get back into the event.

He says his team still believes it can win the Cup.

Forecast strong winds threaten to postpone Thursday morning's decider.
