Former Wallabies halfback dies

The former Australian rugby captain John Hipwell, who played 36 tests for the Wallabies, has died suddenly at the age of 65.

Hipwell was renowned for a long pass and defensive toughness and captained the Wallabies nine times in a career that spanned from 1968 to 1982.
