Cooper back in Wallabies starting lineup

5:44 am on 5 September 2013

Quade Cooper will get his first start for the Wallabies under Ewen McKenzie on Saturday after being named at first five for the Rugby Championship match against South Africa in Brisbane.

McKenzie selected Matt Toomua for his first two matches in charge, with Cooper coming off the bench in the back-to-back losses to the All Blacks but has now reverted to Cooper, who helped him to Super Rugby success at the Queensland Reds two years ago.

It is Cooper's first start at first five for the Wallabies in almost a year.

Israel Folau will make his first start at fullback for Australia after being moved from the wing in place of Jesse Mogg.

Nick Cummins replaces Folau on the wing, while Sekope Kepu came in for Ben Alexander in the front row and uncapped loose foward Jake Schatz was named in the reserves in place of Liam Gill.
