Taranaki have notched their first win of the provincial rugby competition, a narrow 15-14 victory in Southland.
It's not enough to lift the amber and black visitors off the bottom of the ITM Cup Premiership however, while the Stags are just a point above equally winless Manawatu at the foot of the second-division Championship.
Elsewhere on Saturday night, North Harbour drew 33-33 with Northland at Albany.
