Former Wallabies captain says ABs vulnerable to youthful Wallabies

The former Australian rugby captain Andrew Slack has questioned the hunger of the All Blacks' ageing stalwarts going into this weekend's opening game of the Rugby Championship.

Slack, who led Australia in 19 tests, including a breakthrough series win over the All Blacks in 1986, says Steve Hansen's team isn't the formidable side that won the 2011 World Cup, and he believes they could be tested in a battle of fitness by the more youthful Wallabies.

The All Blacks' 28-man squad for the Rugby Championship includes eight players over the age of 30, while the Wallabies' only player over 30 is hooker Stephen Moore.

The All Blacks and Wallabies meet in the opening game of the four-nation championship in Sydney on Saturday.
