Drysdale dismisses chance of defending world title

The Olympic rowing champion Mahe Drysdale doubts he'll be able to succesfully defend his world title at next month's world champs in South Korea.

Drysdale, who's a five-time world champion in the event, was today a late inclusion in the New Zealand squad for the event after completing a time trial on Lake Karapiro.

Selectors kept the single sculls spot open for him as he only returned to full time training five weeks ago after time away from the sport following the London Games.

With only another four weeks of training ahead of him Drysdale doesn't believe a sixth world title is a realistic target.

Drysdale says he's hopeful of making the A final.
